Privacy policy

The short version
A venue photographs you. You are handed a card with a code. Entering that code links those photographs to an account identified by your email address, so you can come back for them. We do not sell your data and we do not use your photographs to advertise anything.
What we hold
- Your account. Email address, and your name and phone number if you choose to add them. A password, stored only as a hash.
- Your photographs and videos. The files a venue captured, the code they were issued under, and which of them you have claimed.
- Download records. Which files you downloaded and when, so venues can settle their licensing and so we can investigate a failed download.
- Session data. A signed cookie that keeps you logged in. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
Why we hold it
To deliver the service you asked for when you entered a code: matching captures to you, letting you preview and download them, and fulfilling any order you place. Where the law requires a basis, that basis is performance of a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working.
Who else sees it
- The venue that photographed you can see that a code was claimed and how many files were taken, so that they can support you and reconcile their licensing. They do not receive your password.
- Our hosting and storage providers hold the files and the database on our behalf, under contract, in [region].
- Our payment processor handles any purchase. Card details are entered with them and never reach our servers.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Unclaimed captures are deleted on the schedule set by the venue that took them, typically [retention period]. Claimed media stays in your account until you delete it or close your account. Download records are kept for [retention period] for billing and dispute purposes.
Photographs of children
Family photographs frequently include children. Accounts are for adults: if you are claiming photographs that include a child, you should be their parent or guardian, or acting with their permission. If you believe a child's photograph is in this service without that permission, contact us and we will remove it.
What you can ask for
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and close your account. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to a data protection regulator.
Write to support@snapturex.com and tell us the email address on the account. We will respond within [response window].
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Files are held in private storage and served through short-lived links rather than public URLs, so a link that leaks stops working. Passwords are hashed. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will say so here and update the date at the top before the change takes effect.
